Q. How far away is the car park?
A. We are in easy walking distance from the Quay. It will depend on how fast You walk, I can do it in 10 Minutes at normal walking pace, and can do it in less if I walk faster. If You walk slowly it will take You longer�so please allow enough time for this when planning Your arrival. If You think You will have difficulty with this distance then check out the other questions as we will do our best to help. Make sure You drop Your bags off at the Quay BEFORE coming to the car parking area.
Q. What do I do with my luggage?
A. There are Luggage handlers in Florescent jackets at the end of the Quay (Stevedores) so pull up as close to the Quay as possible, You can drive onto the Quay and there are designated spaces for dropping off luggage but these may be occupied, if You drive down further You may find someone parks right behind You and will block You in. Make sure your Luggage is properly tagged! Pass your Luggage to the Stevedores and they will place it in a container for loading onto the Scillonian. On Your return the container will be on the Quay with Your luggage waiting to be picked up. If there are two people travelling then One can wait for the luggage and the other walks down to pick up the car.
Q. Do you have space available for the dates we require?
A. Please use the online booking service to check for availability. You do not need to complete your booking if you just want to check availability on the dates required. Please note that just because the website says we have space in the morning this does not guarantee it will still be there in the evening! If the website has no availability please telephone us as we always have more spaces than we advertise on line to allow for postal and last minute bookings and we will try to find space for you.
Q. How far in advance do we need to book?
A. Although we have sufficient space to accommodate normal demand, we only have limited space and certain times of the year are very busy. Special events on Scilly put extra pressure on this space so if you need parking during the gig racing Championships in May or for bank holidays and school holidays then early booking is advised.
Q. We forgot to book our parking and we are coming down tomorrow can you help us?
A. Please ring and we will try our best to find space for you.
Q. I have a camper van which is larger than “normal” can we park this with you?
A. Our spaces are the same size as you would find in a supermarket car park and are large enough to accommodate small camper vans (regular V.W. Type 25 campers). If your camper is a coach built Hymer or similar then we can still accommodate you as we have provision in our outdoor parking area for large campers. Please book outdoor parking on line and email us at firstname.lastname@example.org (include a booking reference) with additional details. During peak periods we may have to make an extra charge if your camper is going to take up an excessive amount of space but we try to keep the extra charge proportionate with the extra space required.
Q. Are there any height restrictions at the car park as we have a top box on our car?
A. There are no height restrictions at the car parking and no extra charges for high vehicles (although see above for larger campers).
Q. We are bringing a trailer, how do we book this and how much will it cost?
A. If the trailer is going to take up a whole space (most boat trailers do and some will take up more) then it will be charged as if it was a vehicle so book it in online and email with the booking reference to email@example.com with additional details. If the trailer is smaller than a car then we charge £25.00 per eight day week or £40.00 for two weeks. For other periods please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for prices.
Q. We are departing to (or returning from) Scilly on the helicopter or Skybus and returning (or departing) on the Scillonian. How do we book this?
A. When booking parking which involves a transfer there is a box on the online booking form which needs to be “ticked” to inform us that a transfer is involved. For heliport departures we will meet you at the Heliport 45 Minutes prior to departure, carry out a damage assessment on the vehicle with you and return the vehicle to our secure parking. When you return follow the directions on the email confirmation to our premises to pick the vehicle up, (a ten minute walk along the Promenade). For Scillonian departures and returns to the Heliport, drop the vehicle off at our premises, we will carry out the damage assessment with you and we will deliver the vehicle to the Heliport on your return. Please ensure you leave a spare set of keys for the vehicle. Once you have made an online booking please email and include a booking reference with additional details of your flight times and flight numbers to email@example.com Skybus departures are similar but we will (if required) meet you and pick up your vehicle at Penzance Station 20 minutes before the Lands End shuttle bus departs. On your return (if you are using the Lands End shuttle bus) ask the bus driver to drop you at our premises at Wherrytown. Again email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with additional details of your departure and return times flight numbers etc including your booking reference. There is a £5.00 charge for each drop off or pick up paid in cash either at the pick up or drop off. All our drivers are comprehensively insured to drive our customers vehicles.
Q. We will be changing our vehicle soon and don’t know the details of the new vehicle.
A. Book the current vehicle and registration and email us at email@example.com as soon as you know the new details.
Q. We don’t want to book online as we don’t like using our debit card to pay for goods or services on the internet but want to reserve parking now to ensure we get a space.
A. Although our website is as secure as possible and card providers are taking steps to make using cards online safer we understand that credit card fraud is a worry to everyone. On the website you will find we have provided a booking form which You can print out and post to us (Please enclose an SAE and make cheques payable to IOS Parking Ltd). We can also take Bookings and payments over the Telephone using a Debit card (Visa, Master Card etc). Please have Your vehicle and Card details to hand and�in peak season be aware that the lines can be very busy. If you want to reserve parking email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will reserve parking space for you for 72 Hours to allow your booking form to arrive. Please note parking is not confirmed until payment is received.
Q. We are disabled or will have difficulty with the walk to the quay or are travelling alone with small children.
A. Please email email@example.com with your requirements and we will do our utmost to ensure your trip is as stress free as possible. We can either meet you at the Quay and pick up and drop your vehicle there (for a small additional charge) or provide transport to and from the quay.
